This is happening on a fresh install of OSX 10.7 and a brand new download from ESET; had this problem previously too, was hoping clearing the system would help.Suddenly - over the last couple of weeks my Mac Air started becoming slower.
I have tracked it down to esetsdaemon using a lot of CPU whenever a new application launches. This also happens intermittently every now and again. Using 4.0.72.1 (Eset Cybersecurity for Mac) and OSX 10.6.8 (32 bit) Darwin 10.8.0 Please help. Should the problem persist, make sure to open a support ticket so that customer care representatives can assist you further. But it seems that they dont really care that much about it wich is really irritating to see to be honest I guess the best way for the Mac users to get support, would be to open a support ticket instead of posting about their issues at Wilders. Edit: there we go a Mod finally said something to the Mac userbase Though they need to reply more often. So, I should install the 4.0.72.1 and run the update instead. Unfortunately for whatever reason when i looked at the log it was supposed to save of the scan it had not saved anything that would describe what it found and removed. I do know it was something about Agent.nbl Agent.nbs And to do with possible java something or other. I am including the logs from Hijack This and other reqested items Although as I have 64 bit system i cannot use Gmer. Sorry you had to wait so long, there just arent enough volunteers to cope with the demand. You have not posted the Attach.txt log from DDS, please do so. You have Windows Defender enabled, this should not be running when you have an Anti Virus installed, please got to the Contol Panel click on Windows Firewall and switch it off. Before we dive into any scans for infections, you have not reported there being any other problem except for hard drive activity, the lack of any other symptoms would suggest this is not Malware related. Eset will only save a log if it has found anything, if you are sure it showed some detections then follow this to find the log and post its contents: The path to the log file is C:Program FilesESETEsetOnlineScannerlog.txt. You can view this file by navigating to the directory and double-clicking it in Windows Explorer, or by copying and pasting the path specification above (including the quotation marks) into the Start RunSearch dialog box from the Start Menu on the desktop. Please also go into Task Manager by holding down CtrlAltDel on your keyboard, then select it from the list. Make sure before you do this that your browser is closed and there are no other windows open. Look under the Processes tab and tell me what CPU usage is showing at the bottom of the window. It should be around 1 to 10, if much higher, look down the CPU column and tell me what processes are shown as using the CPU. You can stop the rows jumping around by clicking on View Update Speed Paused. I also looked into the file path C:Program FilesESETEsetOnlineScannerlog.txt All it reports is: email protected as CAB hook log: OnlineScanner64.ocx - registred OK OnlineScanner.ocx - registred OK esetsscannerupdate returned -1 esetsgle53251 But i had run it again since the first scan which is why i had no repoert to post the first time i started the thread. Explorer.exe sits at a constant 18k. Explorer showing 18K is the memory it occupies, what you need to look for is the number under the CPU column. Now I have reveiwed the DDS Attach.txt I see a number of errors related to your hard drive controller which could indicate a faulty hard drive. A menu will pop up with cmd at the top, right click on it and select Run as Administrator. Another box will open, at the prompt type chkdsk r and hit Enter. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts (YN). Let all 5 phases run and dont use or turn off the computer. The chkdsk process may take an hour or more to finish, if it appears to freeze this is normal so do not interrupt it. 100 Cpu Usage By Esets Daemon Ecsp Windows 7 Disk CheckWindows 7 Disk Check log Once the log is in view then click on Copy in the right hand pane and select Copy details as text.
